Good News In The Meantime
I thought I’d bring you some good news while I’m working on my next article. As you know, people who updated their unlocked iPhones with Apple’s latest firmware sadly lost their ability to make phone calls. Well, times have changed and these unfortunate people now have the chance to undo their mistake by downgrading the baseboard to the last working version.
The new SimFree software can unbrick any iPhone that have been unlocked with iUnlock or anySIM. I won’t get into details but the people at iPhoneSimFree.com have published a guide explaining how to do it. Now on to other and perhaps more relevant news.
According to AppleInsider, Apple has now finalized Leopard to the point that they’re sending out training material to their support staff. We’re getting closer, people. The still unofficial release date is October 26th which I’m very confident about, and a Gold Master is expected to show up within a few days. Looks like they’ll have no problem meeting this deadline.
Anyhow, I’ve got a lot of stuff going on since I’m moving to England in a couple of weeks, but that won’t stop me from spreading my Apple love. In the meanwhile, stay tuned and subscribe to my feed. A lot of great stuff is going on at Apple right now and we’re looking forward to new shiny MacBooks and third-party application development for the iPhone.
Or so they say. You know, the mysterious “industry experts” and “inside sources.”

I can’t wait for Time Machine! I probably won’t upgrade right away. I’ll let the early adopters work out the kinks first. ;-)

Hehe, smart move. I’ll probably upgrade as soon as I can, can’t help my curiosity. New filesystem with improved Spotlight may even replace QuickSilver for me, we’ll see.
Here’s a great article on Time Machine for those who want to know why it’s so great:

I am so excited about Leopard! Perhaps just as excited as I was about the previous software….but I agree with “dcr” that I probably won’t be the first to purchase it since I am a poor college student :(.

Nice to see some excitement. You’ll have the new cat sooner or later, it’s just a matter of time. And like dcr, you won’t have to deal with any possible early bugs. :)
