Apple Sued For Ignoring Disability Law
The reason why I’m not usually reporting lawsuits filed against Apple is because they happen all the time. And here we go again. But at least this time it’s not about patents or anything like that; it’s about disability laws. Two women in wheel-chairs are filing a 17 pages long report, suing Apple for not following accessibility laws. Man, 17 pages. Some people just have too much spare time.
But I guess they’re right. All people should have equal access to the retail stores, and I think everyone at Apple would agree to that and will make it happen. MacNN reports that “the women said they are more interested in changing the store to better accommodate their disabilities than punishing the Cupertino-based company, and added that they will both return to the store once ‘legally required access’ is added.”
However, there are other lawsuits that are frequently hitting Apple. See examples here, here, here and here. Frankly, I haven’t read any of those articles because similar ones seem to pop up every day and some of them are just ridiculous. Sure, Apple shouldn’t break the law because they’re a multi-billion dollar company, but I really don’t think they intend to.
