Apple Sells Nearly One In Five Laptops In U.S.

We are glad to inform you that the number is steadily increasing. Analyst Stephen Baker reports, “their sales are continuing to grow faster than the rest of the marketplace.” Yes, we’re talking about Apple and their laptop computer sales. The MacBook in it’s various forms accounted for over 17% of laptop sales in June, up from about 14% in May.
This number places Apple third on NPD’s list of laptop leaders, behind HP and Toshiba. Baker says MacBook updates contributed to the jump in market share and that the back-to-school period will have a strong influence on Apple’s upcoming sales numbers. He doesn’t expect the numbers to be higher than June. However, he thinks they will stay stable.
So why are HP and Toshiba such strong competitors? Windows is probably the best answer we’ll come up with without going into the deepness of human psychology. A lot of people have been using this poor substitute for our favorite OS, Mac OS X, for a very long time. Either these people don’t like change or they don’t recognize the benefits of moving to Mac. Not yet, that is.
Now, I’m now originally from the U.S. but I’ve spent some time studying in L.A. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of MacBooks I saw in places like Starbucks. Apple is on the rise and if you don’t believe your own eyes, you can surely believe these numbers. Numbers don’t lie.
