Mac OS X Leopard, What’s Up?
So what’s going on with Mac OS X Leopard? Well, Apple just released an update that shows some interface updates, and they are asking beta testers to try out new features and point out bugs. The latest release also features the new intro video and desktop background that seem to accustom the new time-traveling backup machine we’re so eagerly waiting for.
An AppleInsider article mentions some of the visual changes in the latest update; a more opaque menu bar, refined toolbar in Preview and new preference pane icons. Some of the features they want their testers to dig into are .Mac syncing of Widgets, and dock items and preferences. Apple also want people to make sure that old features like Spotlight Mail search are working correctly in the new version of the OS.
The guys over at AppleInsider seem somewhat worried about the timeframe, as Apple is supposed to release Leopard in October, about six weeks from now. Here at Apple Are, we’re not worried; we trust Apple and the fact that Apple is not Microsoft or EA. You see, at Apple, delays are not customary.
