Apple is now offering refurbished iPhones on a discount at their online Apple Store. The number of devices in stock is unknown, but the price tag is $100 lower than the regular phone’s. This means you can get a 4 GB iPhone for $399, while the refurbished 8 GB costs $499.

But what qualifies as a refurbished iPhone? And are you still guaranteed a high quality product?

Yes, you are. The refurbished units for sale have been sent back under Apples 14-day return policy. Only some of them have had technical problems, and all of them have been throughly tested, cleaned and repackaged. Of course, they are also covered by Apple’s one year limited warranty.

This sounds like good news for Apple fans on a budget.
