Useless Studies Show iPhone Learning Curve
We have a weakness at Apple Are. As the great Mac fans we are, we hate publishing bad news about Apple products. But today we make an exception to report that the iPhone has a high learning curve. A study performed by User Centric gave the result that business people will face a tough time learning how to type on the iPhone keyboard.
Apparently, the study showed that business users type as fast on an iPhone as on a phone with multi-tap, and even faster on their Blackberrys and Treos. But wait a minute. Ten of the participants owned a regular phone and the other ten used Blackberry or Treo. Thats right…
None of the participants had ever used an iPhone.
It’s a new device, what did they expect? I’ve got an idea. Let’s also take lifetime Windows users and pin them to a Mac. This will surely prove once and for all that Mac has a really high learning curve. Let me take a minute to stop laughing at that one.
It takes time to adapt to a new gadget and that goes for Treo and Blackberry and not just the iPhone. We all know that. The real question is; does the iPhone have a higher learning curve than any other new device? Or which device works faster for long-time established users?
