Keynote, Just A Detail

I had just downloaded a trial of the new iWork when I decided to take the ‘tour’. The tour is a Keynote presentation of the features of Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Maybe not so useful if you have used the suite before, but not really boring either.

Anyhow, I have a MacBook and an external display; that’s a total of 2 displays. As the presentation started, I noticed that both screens were used. On my primary monitor was the presentation and on the smaller, secondary monitor was time, a timer and information about the current as well as the next page.

This isn’t extreme by any means, but I was a bit surprised. Technology is getting smarter every day and so is Apple. Good thinking.

What details make you an Apple fan?

The previous keynote (’06) did this, too. You can switch the monitor (primary or secondary) on which the presentation is shown. if you use a beamer for presenting and your laptop monitor for yourself you have to switch this setting in preferences.

You can even customize the layout and appearance of that “moderator”-screen.

btw: PowerPoint has this feature, too. But it’s harder to use. As always.
